Entertainment and Progressive Action
This panel will discuss how the entertainment industry, specifically film, can act as a vehicle for igniting social change through the education of progressive public policy and our current cultural landscape. We will hear from members of the film industry on their experience with this medium to advocate for social change.
Environment and Energy Policy in CA leading the nation
California is often though of as the leader in progressive environmental and energy policy, taking on challenges in water, transportation, housing and more. This panel will discuss current or upcoming initiatives in California and around the country, with highlights of recent important successes at the local, state and national level and a look to the future.
Community Engagement: Building Key Strategies with Activists, Philanthropists and Government
This panel will host a discussion on different models used across sectors to engage various communities and promote social change. We will hear from advocates in the non-profit sector, from philanthropists and from members working in local and state governments on how they connect with or influence their respective communities.
Progressive Technology: A showcase of cool developments in the tech sector on the West Coast
This will be a showcase of presentations from local tech start-ups that are developing interesting technologies that seek to impact positive social change.
NLC is a 501(c)(3) organization, and donations to NLC may be tax deductible.
New Leaders Council is a 501 (c) (3) public charity dedicated to educating a new generation of leaders and to providing those leaders with the tools they need to succeed. NLC does not engage in political or legislative activities of any kind, does not support or oppose any candidate for public office, and serves only as an educational leadership training ground.
